Agriturismo among olive trees with stunning views
Since I live in Tuscany, I am quite spoiled for beautiful scenery. But the views from this agriturismo are truly breathtaking. The beautiful Tuscan hills with their olive groves, vineyards and pretty villages create a special atmosphere. The agriturismo is situated in a peaceful rural location among the olive trees. But at the same time it is also very centrally located close to the popular tourist attractions of Tuscany such as Florence, Siena and Pisa. In the beautiful and well maintained garden there is a swimming pool with sunbeds and wifi is available on site.
Near the farmhouse, within walking distance, there is a mini-market and a Tuscan restaurant where they serve local dishes. This restaurant belongs to the same family and if you are dining there it is wise to bring a flashlight for the way back because the path to it is not illuminated. Certaldo Alto is about 8 km from the agriturismo and San Gimignano is about 20 km away. It’s about 40 km to both Florence and Siena and 100 km to the beach at Livorno
The apartments
The agriturismo, consisting of three houses, was completely restored in 2004. Proudly the owners showed me the pictures of the long-term rebuilding. They live in the tower house and four apartments were completed in the house next door, all with two bedrooms. There is also a detached house for 6 to 8 people, with a large private garden and a separate entrance. The owner has furnished the apartments with warm Tuscan colours and fine antique furniture. The apartments all have their own seat on the terrace in front of the apartments. And there are a few apartments with a second terrace at the back of the house. The apartments have air conditioning (for an extra fee), satellite TV, hair-dryer and a kitchen with microwave, coffeemaker and toaster.
