What is an agriturismo?
An agriturismo is a small-scale farm that also offers guest rooms, apartments, or both. From b&bs to luxurious villas or apartments or restored country homes. It may have a restaurant too – serving local specialities – which is also frequented by the locals. An agriturismo is beautifully situated in the countryside, away from the city's hustle and bustle. Most agriturismos make olive oil and wine, and some of them also grow grain and vegetables. In short: tranquillity, space, and conviviality.
Paddling pool or shallow area
Agriturismos come in many shapes and forms. Some are more suitable for couples, others are very family-friendly. These take the needs of children into account. They will for instance have a fun playground or football field. And of course a swimming pool that will delight your children. With families with young children in mind, I have selected agriturismos that have a paddling pool. This could be a separate paddling pool, or a shallow section in the large pool, where your children can splash and play. Ideal for the little ones who cannot swim yet. Your kids will have a lovely time here. And if the children are happy, so are the parents. Please note: not all of the pools are fenced, so always keep a watchful eye on your toddler!
