Hospitable agriturismo in Umbria with authentic cuisine

After a phone call from the new owners of this agriturismo in Umbria asking if they could be included in my selection, I decided to visit them. The agriturismo is near important touristic towns in Umbria such as Perugia and Assisi, 40 km away and about an hour from Lake Trasimeno, so a very interesting area!
I was warmly welcomed by the owner and his mother. They bought the farm a few years ago and with hard work transformed it into a beautiful agriturismo.
The road to it is good to drive, although the last part is not paved and does have some potholes, so you have to take it easy and not be in a hurry. Once on site, you are on a hill with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

It was a beautiful day, but a little chilly, so we sat down in the agriturismo's restaurant, where they offered me a delicious coffee and told me all about their agriturismo.You immediately feel that they are happy to take care of their guests and do everything they can to make you feel at home. In the restaurant they also sell their products a km zero: olive oil, flour, pasta and all kinds of canned products and products preserved in olive oil. They have their own vegetable garden and a chicken coop where they get the products they use every day in their restaurant and for breakfast.

Apartments and rooms

The two double rooms and the 4 apartments (three 2-bedroom apartments and one 1-bedroom apartment) are furnished in typical Umbrian rustic style with simple, essential furniture. The apartments are on the ground floor or on the first floor and all have a kitchen with a small refrigerator and four hotplates, and there is Wi-Fi.
The accommodations do not have a private outdoor area but you can sit on the veranda of the restaurant if the tables are not all reserved. The owners are often in the restaurant and you can always ask them for advice or good tips.

The swimmingpool

The agriturismo has a small swimming pool (13x6 meters) with sun loungers and parasols where you can relax and enjoy the peace of the Umbrian countryside. The maximum depth is 1.5 meters and it has steps to easily get into the pool.

Restaurant, breakfast included and cooking classes

The strong point of this agriturismo is the restaurant where "la mamma" prepares delicious homemade dishes with an authentic taste.
The breakfast, included in the price of both rooms and apartments, is an excellent way to start the day. There is bread, butter and jam, homemade cakes, fruit, yogurt and fresh eggs straight from the chicken coop, which is a few meters from the restaurant.

In the evening, you can eat here by reservation. The restaurant is open every day and offers a daily changing menu with mostly local products. Don't miss the chance to enjoy a delicious dinner on the veranda, Italy at its best!

For cooking lovers, it is possible to take a cooking class with the owner. First she takes you to their vegetable garden to pick seasonal vegetables and then you cook with her some typical dishes from Umbria. An unforgettable experience!
