Tranquil and luxurious agriturismo and villa with panoramic view in Tuscany
Over the years, I have visited many agriturismos for My Italy, and usually I know immediately whether it’s going to meet my requirements. This agriturismo ticked all the right boxes at once. A good thing, because to get here you have to navigate a rather bumpy dirt road, for the last stretch. But this agriturismo more then makes up for that small inconvenience! The agriturismo consists of a restored medieval manor situated on a hill with an astounding panoramic view of the Valdarno valley and the green Chianti hills. It is situated near Montevarchi ( about 20 km) and only a one-hour drive from Florence, Siena and Arezzo.
The agriturismo proudly boasts a herb garden with lavender, rosemary, and various other herbs, but also strawberries. The proprietor produces saffron, olive oil, honey, and zolfoni beans, a rare species of white bean with a lovely creamy flavour. Once a week, they cook together with their guests, using herbs from their own garden. They love herbs so much here, they even wrote a cookbook about it. In peak season, they organize BBQ-nights, every Saturday (to be booked in advance). The agriturismo’s garden has a nice child-friendly swimming-pool enjoying magnificent panoramic views. As the pool shelves very gradually, children can safely play in the shallow part. There is no playground, but the garden has a swing. There is Wifi, as well as a few mountain bikes and a fresh bread service. You can order your bread for the next day at the reception. Free delivery!
The apartments
The agriturismo has 4 spacious and romantically furnished apartments, varying in size to accommodate 2 to 6 people. Every apartment has its own terrace with wooden garden seats, shaded by a large parasol. With the exception of the two-person apartments, all apartments are fitted with a dishwasher.
The villa
On the grounds of this agriturismo, there is furthermore a large detached villa that encompasses 190 square metres, with an extensive private garden. The villa is very suitable for two families or one big family. The villa has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, two living rooms and a large kitchen with dining area, washing machine and dishwasher.
