Elegant country house amid the vineyards of Piedmont
When I visited this beautifully restored 17th-century villa, I was warmly welcomed by the incredibly friendly owners, who gave me a heartfelt tour of the house and its stunning garden. Their passion for running this country house is evident in every detail — from the thoughtfully designed interiors to their focus on sustainability and deep love for the region.
Originally built in the late 1600s, the villa once served as a summer retreat for noble families from the area. The current owners have renovated it with great respect for its history and a strong sense of sustainability, preserving its timeless charm while offering all modern comforts.
Surrounded by vineyards and just outside the renowned Barolo wine region, the villa is set in the heart of the Langhe. It’s the perfect base for exploring charming wine towns like Barolo, La Morra, and Cherasco, while Alba, Turin, the sea, and even the mountains are all within easy reach — just over an hour’s drive away. And as a delightful extra: the family produces their own wine, which you can purchase directly on-site. They’re rightly proud of it — during my first visit, I was offered a glass of their white wine, and it was truly delicious!
Swimming pool, garden & breathtaking views
The large, enclosed garden — an impressive 1,500 m² — offers plenty of space to unwind: under the pergola, in the shade of the trees, or by the beautiful infinity pool with sun loungers and parasols. Thanks to its location at 350 meters above sea level and the villa’s thick historic walls, the temperature remains pleasant even in summer. In line with their commitment to sustainability, the owners have deliberately chosen not to install air conditioning.
There is private parking, and guests can rent (electric) bikes to explore the area. On request, a wine tasting can also be arranged on-site.
The apartments
The country house is home to seven romantic apartments, each one uniquely styled and thoughtfully furnished. Authentic materials, soft tones, antique or upcycled pieces, and modern touches are harmoniously combined with great attention to detail. Original features like wooden floors, vaulted ceilings, and exposed beams give each apartment a warm and elegant feel.
All apartments are equipped with a well-appointed kitchen and a modern bathroom. With their spacious layout and large windows, I found each apartment to be bright, comfortable, and welcoming.
In short
A stylish and inviting country house, nestled among the vineyards, with a spacious garden, a scenic infinity pool, and comfortable, romantic apartments. Thanks to the welcoming owners, the house-made wine, the peaceful setting, and the proximity to the Barolo region, this is a wonderful destination for anyone seeking comfort, freedom, and a relaxing holiday in Piedmont.
